DTF Heat Press Instructions
Applying DTF transfers correctly is important to ensure strong adhesion, vibrant color, and long-lasting durability. Follow the steps below for consistent results when pressing your transfers.
Recommended Heat Press Settings
Temperature: 300–320°F
Press Time: 10–15 seconds
Pressure: Medium to Firm Pressure
Heat press settings may vary depending on your equipment, so testing one transfer first is always recommended.
Step-by-Step Application Process
1. Pre-Press the Garment
Before applying the transfer, press the garment for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles. This helps the transfer adhere properly.
2. Position the Transfer
Place the DTF transfer on the garment with the design facing up. Make sure the design is aligned correctly before pressing.
3. Heat Press the Transfer
Press the transfer at 300–320°F for 10–15 seconds using medium to firm pressure.
4. Allow Transfer to Cool
After pressing, allow the transfer to cool completely before peeling the film. Peeling too early can affect the final result.
5. Peel the Film
Once cooled, carefully peel the film from one corner in a smooth motion.
6. Final Press
Cover the design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and press again for 5 seconds. This final press helps lock the design into the fabric.
